Countdown to 1/2 marathon: 2 weeks from tomorrow. Am I prepared? Certainly not. I got a confirmation email the other night and to be honest was a little upset to see they got my check. It would be better if I had been keeping up with my training...12 weeks is just a long time to stay faithful! At this rate, I'll never run a full marathon! Oh well, I'll make it...maybe not in the time I had originally set. I'll finish one way or another, probably sucking air for more than half of the run!

Excitement's a brewing!
My life has been transformed!! That's right. The person to thank for this transformation is Sarah Karkoska. You see, I've always wanted to be a hot tea drinker, but haven't found the right flavor. For Christmas, I got a personal "tea for one" and some tea bags. The flavor was delicious! So the next time I was at Target, I bought a different flavor, this one with caffeine, and I'm in LOVE! My favorites so far are the Tazo Awake and Tazo Wild Sweet Orange. The only thing I need now is a whistling tea pot! I'm looking for one like this one, but I'm thinking I want a deep red or a funky green...
I'm sitting on my couch drinking my hot tea. For some reason I feel like it's more grown up to be drinking my tea and reading...I spent some time at starbucks yesterday with my tea and a book. Talk about relaxing! It sure was great! I got to thinking how incredibly lucky I am that I have a whole week off every other week. It's the little things I guess!!
Here's the flag of where I'm going to be for a couple weeks in June...the Dominican Republic! I'm going on a mission trip with the medical missions group from Birmingham. I've been going to the bible study for a few months when I'm not working, and I love it and really feel that since I've been given the passion and gifts to help people, it would be selfish of me not to go! I fought with the idea of going, but over Christmas talked to the fam and they were fine with me going, and if I don't get approved to take a week off from work, then I can just go for the first week! Either way, I'm pretty sure it's going to be amazing!
We're going to be setting up clinics in sugar cane villages and see the people there for check-ups (we will be working with a ministry that is already established there) and we'll also get to play with the kids! I am really excited and can't wait to see what all the Lord is going to do! Tomorrow I'm going to send off for my passport...yay!
P.S. I've gotta give myself a few props for combining the two topics in this post together for a title...pure genius!

My lovely family
Yes, this is our post-Christmas card...Mom's brilliant idea, of course! Each one of us are holding our dog that represents our school...Lee has sammie (named for Samford), Laura has Lefty (dad wouldn't name a dog after Texas A&M), I have Jack (SFA's mascot is the lumberjacks) Dad has Auburn where he went to school, and mom has spot (she's holding him by default, she went to Samford too) Auburn had these puppies in July...they are no longer puppies, they are huge now!
Check out this van Laura and I saw while we were in Ft. Worth!! We pretty much HAD to take a pic!
That's one BIG family!

cavities and coat weather
Me, Katie, and Brianne at Katie's Pinning in December! Congrats girl!
I hate dental work. I wouldn't wish it on anyone. I hate it...like real bad. I guess there's something about hearing the drill, smelling the smell of tooth particles, feeling the massive hands in your mouth, and not to mention the numbness you experience the rest of the day. yuck.
I was lucky enough to experience this today. In fact, I had been dreading it since I got the "friendly reminder call" on Friday. This particular time, I needed to get a filling...like my 20th or something. I was quite surprised when he told me I had a cavity. I thought to myself, "wow, I didn't know there were any more places to fill!" Apparently I inherited bad teeth from my mom...or perhaps its my love for hard, sugary candy that sticks in my teeth.
Anyway, my trip to the dentist was no bueno, as usual. And the right side of my mouth was numb till dinner. I'm so glad I only have to submit myself to that torture twice a year!
On a happy note, I bought this cute coat on Saturday...I LOVE it! Now I just need the weather to cool off a little so I can show it off!!
Yee-Haw! My sis and I found this at a mall in Ft. Worth. You better believe I wanted a pic! Getting off that thing was a trip!

Where did 2007 go?
Is it just me...or did the year just fly by? So much has gone on this year! From riding a horse for the first time (and almost getting thrown through a barbed-wire fence) to buying a new car, this year has been a big year for me.
So last night I rang in the new year at work. BUT, we did have a good time. Our clerk planned a party and, well, what's a party without the party hats? (My idea, of course) We ended up giving some to the patients, and had fun too!
I'm LONG over due for a picture post so here are some pics to summarize my year...
day I rode my 1st horse! and got pelted in the leg by geoffery..I think that's when I realized we could be friends!
snow in texas on Easter!
our hillbilly graduation party!
last pancake breakfast of college! :(
granbury girls!
whitewater rafting extravaganza in tennessee!!
the wright girls on Christmas Eve!
I think my new year's resolution is to take more pictures now that I have a functioning camera!!
