Ready, ready, ready... ready to run!

...all I'm ready to do its have some fu-u-u-un! Sure did have a blast yesterday!

AND I survived!!! My sweet g-parents were kind enough to come and cheer me on late in the race! It was much needed, man the hills of Birmingham are something I underestimated. Of course my grandmother took pics, I'll post them whenever she emails them to me!

I finished in 2 hours and 3 minutes. Stinks that it was only 3 minutes over 2...the next one I do I'll have to finish in under 2! And yes, there will be another one! Strangely enough, it was kinda euphoric! And lots of fun! There was a random lady playing an acordian along the way, rap singers in the streets, and a beer and donuts station (odd? yes!) My bones and muscles are extremely achy, I worked last night and more and more muscles became sore throughout the night. Walking down the stairs from my apt. last night proved to be a challenge, I just gritted my teeth along the way.

Here are the pics I took to commemorate the event:
I was # 3502 of about 4-5,000 people.
I'm not crazy enough to do the full 26.2 miles...maybe next year though!
my trusty sauconys...13.1 miles and I ended up with only one blister. My left pinky toe. Not too bad!

Well I'm off to go try and calmly run a little of the soreness off and get some much needed rest!

all smiles...for now!

Today was packet pick-up for the big day. I thought it'd be fun to take a quick pic to document! Don't worry, there will be after pics too! There are about 4,000 other crazy people like me running either the half or full marathon. I am kinda excited though, today we drove the course and we'll be running all over downtown Birmingham. I noticed there wont be any hills until about miles 6-9, so that will be fun...ha. BUT, from mile 9 to the end, it's all down hill, so not too bad. The course is pretty and the weather is supposed to be strangely nice. I am feeling a little more confident and, well, I HAVE to finish it to get back to my car, so maybe that will be some incentive for me?

If you're in the downtown area, feel free to cheer me on if you see me, I'll be the one that looks like she's about to pass out!
