I had forgotten how much I love going to coffee shops and reading/ writing/ surfing the internet. I had bible study tonight but haven't really had the time to just relax and sit and think for a long time so I didn't go. As I was driving down 280, my car exited down Lakeshore and found it's way to the bookstore instead of going downtown for the night. I must say, I'm not horribly disappointed, good decision actually. It's nice here. I've always been a people watcher and books-a-million is the perfect place. There's the nerdy guy with the economist magazine, the sorority girls laughing outlandishly while "studying", and the study-aholics in the corner. I can see myself in almost all of them. I'm a big "goer and doer" that I sometimes get too wrapped up in the next thing to do, I forget to relax. So here I am, chilling at the bookstore, listening to my Dave Barnes, drinking my white chocolate mocha, RELAXING and enjoying the simplicity of life.
I've discovered some good musicians over the past couple months. Of course Dave Barnes isn't new to me, but since going to his last concert in Birmingham I bought 2 of his cd's and they're amazing. Other new artists in my cd player: NeedtoBreathe and Tristan Prettyman. Pretty sure you need to check them out. The best way for me to describe them, laid back good music. That's all.
My mom's coming to visit Thursday and I'm way excited! My cousin is playing Cinderella for her senior theatre production at Samford and it's apparently a big deal so mom is coming to watch. I will be going tomorrow since I'm working all weekend. Can't wait! My cousin is pretty talented and ridiculously hilarious!!
(the pic is of me and the madre, if you couldn't figure it out!)
